DENNIS

When Gerri Plansker used the phrase, “Je suis une pomme de terre,”  we began calling ourselves The Potatoes. Three couples, joined at the stomach, were eating their way through Europe.  Dennis Plansker was a Potato, he was also Count Chocula, a husband, a father and whatever he set out to be. He chose his own course, and sometimes he wisely initiated a reset. Little fazed him except bringing harm to others. He was a wildly creative man and also the most grounded family man I have known.

We are all wired differently. Some of us have a low voltage hum in our heads. Our brains are filled with practical thoughts. Dennis was hot wired with ideas bouncing around in his head. He had the chutzpah to throw his craziest ideas out into public view in brilliant bursts. He was a generous package of enthusiasm, optimism and spontaneity.  His life was a generous gift to all of us.

You would be talking to Dennis when slowly his eyes would get big and a smile would creep across his face. We knew Dennis and we knew what would happen next. He would say “What if”, and off we would go. What a trip we had with Dennis.
